Most electrical work on a remodel is discovered, not planned
You open a kitchen wall to move a run of cabinets and find wiring that was fine in 1974 and is not fine now. You add recessed lighting to a basement and discover the circuit it was going to share is already carrying more than it should.
Keeping electrical in-house is why our jobs do not stall. Instead of stopping work and waiting on an outside contractor to fit you into their week, the crew already on site deals with it.
What we handle
- Lighting: recessed cans, pendants, chandeliers, track, under-cabinet, vanity bars and exterior fixtures.
- Switching, including three-way switching and dimmers.
- New outlets, and moving the ones that ended up behind the new island.
- Wiring for remodels — kitchens, bathrooms, basements and additions.
- Bathroom exhaust fans and ventilation.
- Appliance circuits for ranges, dishwashers, wine fridges and washers.
Lighting changes a room more than almost anything else
The ornamental pressed-metal ceiling in our gallery — the gold and bronze medallion pattern with stained-glass pendants hanging under it — only works because of how it is lit. In flat overhead light it would be a texture nobody notices.
The same is true in far more ordinary rooms. Under-cabinet lighting makes a kitchen counter usable. A pair of sconces beside a bathroom mirror is the difference between seeing your face and seeing a shadow of it. When we plan a remodel we plan the lighting with it, not after it.
