More of our work happens in bathrooms than anywhere else
Look through the gallery and the pattern is obvious. Bathrooms are the largest part of what we do, and they are where tile work either holds up or does not.
We remodel bathrooms for homeowners in Dayton, Hillsboro, Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Two Women Contractors is woman and family-owned, bonded and insured, and has been doing this for 27 years.
What we build
A bathroom remodel with us can be a single fixture swap or the whole room taken back to studs:
- Walk-in showers with frameless glass, benches, niches and pebble, mosaic or large-format pans.
- Freestanding soaking tubs, alcove tubs and tub-to-shower conversions.
- Custom tile: subway, marble, slab-look porcelain, encaustic pattern, penny round and stone mosaic.
- Vanities, counters, backlit mirrors and lighting.
- Low-threshold showers and grab bars where accessibility matters.
- Plumbing rough-in, fixtures and the repairs an old bathroom tends to reveal.
- Flooring, waterproofing and full ventilation.
The part nobody photographs
There is a photo in our gallery of a shower pan with the waterproof backer board taped and the stone pan set around the drain, before a single wall tile went up. That stage is the whole job. A beautiful shower over a badly waterproofed pan is a leak with a schedule.
We also set floor tile with levelling clips and let the mortar cure properly. It is slower. It is the difference between a floor that is flat in year one and a floor that is flat in year fifteen.
Small bathrooms are not small projects
A powder room with a bold encaustic floor and a good light fixture can be the most memorable room in a house. A narrow full bath opened up with large-format tile stops feeling like a corridor. Some of the work we are proudest of is in rooms under fifty square feet.
If your bathroom is dated rather than broken, say so when you call — the fix is often smaller and cheaper than people expect.
